Play and Mindfulness Based Strategies: Addressing Children's Need from the Bottom Up

This workshop will help you think more critically about utilizing various play and mindfulness strategies with children. You will receive an overview of the modalities, as well as the impact of the mind/body connection on the therapeutic work. Participants will take part in hands-on activities to learn techniques appropriate for rapport building, assessment, and meeting a variety of therapeutic goals.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will understand the basic components of play therapy and mindfulness for working with children.

  • Participants will receive an overview of the mind-body connection and neurological underpinnings impacting children and adolescents.

  • Participants will understand how to implement some activities and strategies for assessment, rapport building and other therapeutic goals.
